Bayswater Area Guide

About the Area

A slice of London life, Bayswater is a cosmopolitan melting pot of cultures, experiences, colours, architecture and the right zip code – the much-coveted Zone 1.

Bayswater is well known for its close proximity to the city’s greatest green space, Hyde Park, as well as its grand white stucco terraces and garden squares. This really is the place where cultures and clutter collide, but in the most desirable of ways.

Bayswater uses this to its advantage and as a result have attracted diverse communities to its mix of refurbished buildings and modern flat lets. As a Zone 1 location, it offers plenty of travel opportunities with its three tube stations, all within walking distance of each other. Bayswater is on the Circle & District Line; and Queensway & Lancaster Gate are both on the Central Line.

Interestingly, this area hosts the largest number of Brazilians (hello, attractive neighbours) in all of London, and the cuisine caters for all tastes and desires. The Brazilian restaurant Preto in Queensway dishes up copious amounts of meat to its patrons, night after night. If old-school British cuisine is what you’re after, try Hereford Road, and for a good ol’ pint, head to Porchester.
