Hammersmith

A hive of activity that is particularly well-connected

A convenient place to call home, though for nightlife, you're more likely to go next door to High Street Kensington - or anywhere in central London, given the great transport links.

That said, venues like the Hammersmith Apollo (where the likes of Bob Dylan, Penn & Teller, Judas Priest, John Mayer and Led Zeppelin have appeared in the last couple of years) have made this neighbourhood famous.

Many international companies like Coca-Cola, Disney, Accor, L'Oreal and Sony Ericsson have offices here.

Good to know: Singers Lily Allen and Roger Daltrey were born here, as were actors Sacha Baron Cohen, Daniel Radcliffe, Tom Hardy and Hugh Grant.
