Fulham

Leafy, green and upscale

We’re biased because we work and live here, and have done for a long time. But this is undeniably a great neighbourhood. Popular with young professionals and families, it has a slight suburban feel but never lets you forget you’re in the city, with nice bars and restaurants and a genuine social scene. The sole danger is you’ll get caught in the “Fulham bubble” and never leave. Two premier league football clubs are also here: Chelsea and Fulham.

Good to know: Recent archeological digs show that approximately 5,000 years ago Neolithic people were living by Fulham’s Thames riverside and in other parts of the area. (It’s totally civilised now, though!) And Fulham Broadway’s Tube station was used in the film Sliding Doors.
